Families from all cultures are welcome at Christ the King Catholic primary school. Whilst our school is predominately Catholic, we are open and accepting of all faiths and religions. We believe that our Catholic faith can be enriched when we open ourselves to the stories of others. As one of four parish schools in the Parish of St Mary of the Angels, we aim to be an educational community where learning, culture and faith find a meeting place.
Christ the King Catholic Primary School strives to create a safe and welcoming Catholic community where the values, teachings and life of Christ are lived and underpinned by the motto - Christ is the Key. We aim to make meaningful links between faith and life in all that we do. As such Christ the King leads the way with its involvement and commitment to Social Justice initiatives both on a global and local level.
Our school is a very exciting and engaging learning community where children, teachers and parents work together to create the best possible learning opportunities for all students. As a Family Partnership School we believe that when schools and families work together, children do better, schools improve and communities flourish. We encourage parents to be actively engaged in their child’s learning through individual learning walks, parent/teacher/student conversations, student assessment portfolios, community conversations about learning and learning expos held each term.
Students are encouraged to take responsibility and become self-directed learners through our personalised approach to learning. Our aim is to develop students to become clear thinkers who are able to question, critically evaluate and become responsible and articulate members of society, who can demonstrate their faith in action.
Student voice is encouraged and welcomed, with an emphasis on developing leadership potential. The Student Leadership Team consists of 16 year six students: two school leaders, eight house leaders, three social justice leaders and three performing arts leaders.
Apart from the core subject areas of Religious Education, Mathematics, English we also provide outstanding specialist programs in the areas of Science, Italian (LOTE), Physical Education, Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Various extra curricula activities are also available, including Choir, Chess, Instrumental Music and Gardening.
Learning at Christ the King is differentiated so student needs are met. This ensures that students are both sufficiently challenged and supported. Through our ongoing use of academic data, we can confidently say that we add value to each child’s learning at both ends of the learning continuum. Students with additional learning needs are also well supported by our Learning Support Officers and teaching staff to participate fully in the life of our school.
We are truly blessed to work with and share in the development of your children.
