Professional Interests and Expertise:

As the Learning and Teaching Leader, I am passionate about cutting edge approaches to education, actively building strong partnerships with community, industry and tertiary institutions.  Connecting learning to the real world enables students to develop context, purpose and authenticity. My role on the STEM Advisory Board (Catholic Education Melbourne) and the Digital Inclusion Committee (City of Greater Geelong) has assisted me in creating invaluable networks by sharing Christ the King’s exemplary practice with the wider community.  Developing partnerships with organisations such as Deakin University, Monash University, Live Tiles and Barwon Water has enabled our school to push educational boundaries, such as exploring the use of virtual reality in the classroom, as well as developing solutions to real-world problems based on the process of Design Thinking.

Understanding the complexities of how students learn has formed much of my work as the Inclusion Leader.  Christ the King has an excellent record of identification and support of students with additional learning needs (both ends of the spectrum).  I have enjoyed my coaching role in the school and believe that building teacher capacity is paramount to improving student learning outcomes. Recently, I have been involved with the Deep Learning Project (Catholic Education Office - Werribee) where the team explored how new technologies can deepen and enrich student learning.

Recent Professional Development:

STEM Conference - Catholic Education Office, Werribee

Martin Seligman (Positive Psychology) - Geelong Grammar School

Drive:

My drive is first and foremost - excellence in student learning.  I am blessed to be part of a community that strives to achieve the best learning environment for our children.  Unlocking the key to success for our students is the driving force behind everything that I do!
