Religious Education Leader

As Deputy Principal, one of my key responsibilities in the school is Religious Education Leader. Together, with the Principal and staff, my aim is to build a strong and vibrant Catholic Identity in Christ the King school. My role includes co-ordinating the Sacramental preparation programs, including Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. I relish the opportunity to support our students and their families on this journey.

Reading Recovery Teacher

As English Leader in the Junior Learning Community, one of my duties is teaching the Reading Recovery program in Year One. Reading Recovery is a specialised intervention strategy for students who have not made expected progress in literacy in the first year of school. I find supporting students on the Reading Recovery program is an amazing privilege!

Specialised Skills

Christ the King has a strong focus of professional coaching to support excellence in teaching and learning. In 2018, I have undertaken the Coaching Accreditation Program with Growth Coaching International. I see my role as a coach as an important way to support the professional practice of my colleagues and impact on whole-school improvement.

My Passion

In the past 9 years, I have visited our partner-parish, Mary Immaculate, in the District of Viqueque, East Timor, on more than 20 occasions. My work includes teaching Religious Education and English to senior secondary students in Viqueque, as well as supporting the Leadership team in the local Catholic Secondary school. One of the exciting initiatives I am currently leading is a staff trip to East Timor in June 2018. One of my dreams for our partnership with Viqueque is to share the experience of visiting East Timor with a bigger group of people from across the parish.
