Well Being Leader

In my time as the Well Being Leader at Christ the King I have worked to develop a clear vision for student well being and developed my capacity to initiate and drive change.  I am privileged to work with a team of dedicated professionals that support me to implement programs such as Social Emotional Learning, BraveHearts, Life Ed, and strategies such as Student Led Learning Walks that enhance the wellbeing of all our students.  A recent addition to my work was the implementation of the Child Safe Policy including revision to our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix.

Family School Partnership Leader

In 2015 our school joined the Family School Partnership Cluster and it has brought a sharper focus to the work we do in Student Well Being and the commitment we have to developing stronger parental engagement with our school.  The excellent results our students are achieving are due to the quality teaching and learning program, the strong partnerships with our parents, and visionary leadership. From my perspective as both Student Well Being Leader and Family School Partnership Leader, I can see that our students are happy, safe and  engaged in their learning. More than anything else, this is what drives me to build on our success.

English Coach

I began at Christ the King in 2003 as a Literacy Coordinator and in the subsequent years the role of Reading Recovery teacher and English coach were added.  Clearly, I have a passion for the English language and I am passionate about the teaching of reading, writing and oral language. As an experienced NAPLAN marker I am able to bring a wealth of knowledge around assessing student’s writing.  The English coaching sessions have provided all staff the opportunity to learn more and develop their skills further in the area that they identify. Throughout my professional career I have always regarded myself as a learner. Each day presents opportunities to learn something new and I strive to instill this curious disposition in my work and personal life.
