Community

Our school community strives to be a welcoming and inclusive school community, where the values, teachings and life of Christ are lived. As a Catholic school community we are acutely of the need to reach out and support families in need and do so on a regular basis. Often the issues that families face can be quite sensitive and so we are guided by the level of support that families may be looking for.

The families at Christ the King come from Newcomb, Geelong East, St Albans Park, Whittington, Moolap and Leopold and with such diversity, the school aims to organise community events each term, so that families have the opportunities to meet new families. We begin this process very early on when we hold three Prep Orientation sessions for parents. During these sessions, new families get the opportunity to meet other new families as well as the existing families.

Other ways to get involved is to attend the many community events that we hold in the year including

  • Beginning of the Year School Mass and Picnic

  • School Athletics Day

  • Recognition Awards (held every three weeks of term)

  • Community Conversations

  • Parent Information Evening

  • Sacramental Nights and Prayer Evenings

  • Grandparents Mass

  • Mothers Day & Father’s Day Stall

  • Volunteering at Safeway BBQs & Bunnings Warehouse Fundraising Events

  • Attending School Working Bees

  • Trivia Nights
