Performing Arts

The Performing Arts is a highly valued and essential part of learning at Christ The King where students have opportunities to learn through music, drama and dance across all areas of the curriculum.

School Production

The CTK School Production is a bi-annual feature of school life, involving every student in focused and authentic learning in the Performing Arts. Preparation for the School Production takes place intensively over two terms and culminates in a high quality production within a professional theatre setting, During this time, grades work with a visiting choreographer on a regular basis and many students are cast in dramatic and musical roles. The students are highly engaged throughout this challenging and exciting process as they build skills and confidence and gain insight into all aspects of stage production.

The CTK School Choir provides students from grades 3 – 6 with an extra opportunity to sing and develop as performers in a friendly group setting. The Choir rehearse and perform age appropriate repertoire, including traditional choral and popular songs. They can be heard at school and community events and compete annually as part of the Geelong Eisteddfod.

Visual Arts

At Christ the King Primary we offer a skill-based and stimulating visual arts program. Each child has a one hour lesson each week where students experience a range of visual arts activities including painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, textiles and ceramics. The emphasis is to provide students with key skills for each component. Children learn to work with ideas, develop their artistic skills and respond to art works.

Art Show

Christ the King has a biennial Art Show where all students have the opportunity to exhibit their work for their parents and visitors.
