Student Counsellor

To ensure our students reach their full potential, Christ the King has partnered with CatholicCare to offer a School Counselling Program. Our School Counsellor specialises in working with students, staff and families in schools to support and enrich student wellbeing. School counselling is a safe and non-judgemental process that can help students by providing an open space where concerns and feelings can be discussed. Evidence shows that children learn best when they are able to manage the other aspects of their world.

Our School Counsellor can assist in a range of areas including:

  • Conflict and anger
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Self-esteem
  • School Refusal
  • Developmental or academic concerns
  • Social skills
  • Peer relationships
  • Emotion regulation

Various therapy techniques include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness based practice.
