School Counsellor/Psychologist

To ensure our students reach their full potential, Christ the King has partnered with CatholicCare to offer a School Counselling Program. Our School Counsellor is a registered Psychologist who specialises in working with students, staff and families in schools to support and enrich student wellbeing. School counselling is a safe and non-judgemental process that can help students by providing an open space where concerns and feelings can be discussed. 

Our School Counsellor can assist in a range of areas including:

  • Conflict and anger
  • Grief and loss
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Self-esteem
  • School Refusal
  • Developmental or academic concerns
  • Social skills
  • Peer relationships
  • Emotion regulation 

Various therapy techniques include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness based practice.
