Professional Interests and Expertise:

Digital Technologies Leader and Coach: I work with a range of staff members throughout the school to develop skills in teaching and using digital technologies. I help to integrate this technology into classrooms in a way which complements the learning outcomes in all areas. When coaching, I support staff to achieve their own teaching and learning goals and guide them to improve their practice in a way that is meaningful to them.

Member of Christ the King S.T.E.M (Science Technology Engineering & Maths) Committee: My role as a member of the S.T.E.M committee is to assist other teachers (both at Christ the King and across the system) in their understanding of S.T.E.M and design learning opportunities that will prepare students for their future. I am particularly interested in working towards developing an integrated curriculum where students make connections between learning areas between a classroom and real-world application.

Recent Professional Development:

– Breakfast with Gary Stager (Reggio Emilia Approach and STEM)

– GROWTH Coaching (Peer/Leadership Coaching)

– Cyber Safety Project (Cybersafety)

– Teach, Tech, Play (Digital Technology)

Drive:

I have always enjoyed working with children in a number of capacities. From the age of 8 I used to volunteer with junior tennis clinics and through my uni days assisted in over 30 camps. Every job I’ve had has worked with children and what drives me is their improvement, growth and enjoyment of whatever we are doing. I made up my mind in grade one that I was going to be a teacher and never looked back. I loved teaching Science to the whole school for my first three years, as it allowed me to get to know all the students and learn to teach at every level. I am currently in my fourth year of teaching prep and have enjoyed the huge growth the preps make every year. My goal is to make their first year at school memorable, enjoyable and set them up to be the best learners they can be!
