Professional Interests/ Expertise

For the last 11 years I have been an educator within the west of Melbourne.  I have taken on a number of roles such as classroom teacher, STEM Leader and a School Improvement Team member.  Most recently, I have been the Director of Learning and Teaching at St Thomas Aquinas in Norlane.  In each of these roles I have built strong relationships with the students and their families. I have had a keen interest in utilising Digital Technologies to make learning and teaching engaging, meaningful and fun!  I am passionate about Inquiry Based Learning, STEM and utilising Metacognitive (Thinking) Strategies.  I am an enthusiastic person who loves sports and being creative .

Drive

I believe all children should be and can be actively engaged in their learning; this has driven my words, thoughts and actions throughout my career.  As an educator, I believe knowing all students, their families, their learning needs and interests and building strong connections is integral to becoming an active part of the school community.  This is something I look forward to doing here at Christ the King.  Through my role as Deputy Principal Learning Teaching Diversity I endeavour to support the school community to continue to create a learning environment where each person reaches their full potential.
